Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Standard easy run this morning down Sunnyside.  A really easy first 2M then started picking up the pace to a 7:30 clip.  I "felt" my knees a little bit this morning, not a pain or issue, just could feel them.  I will take some ibuprofen just to ensure no inflammation is happening.

Trigon 2 - 325 miles

7M at lunch on a warm and windy day.  1M warmup with Jeff Fogg (8:00) then hit some slower MP miles (6:15-6:20ish) for 4 of the next 5M and 1M of cooldown at 6:45.  Good run, felt pretty solid but was working a bit harder than I wanted (maybe the wind and heat) and I still "felt" my knees a bit.  Mini-taper for the rest of the week heading into the HM this weekend.

Total time: 45:45  (Trigon 1 - 458 miles)

Jeff my first mile this morning was a 8:02 it must just have been the morning blues for us.

I hope your knee is okay you want to save it for the HM this weekend. What Half Marathon are you running?

My first miles lately have been 8:30+.

What's your time goal for the HM this weekend?

From jtshad on Tue, Jul 29, 2008 at 14:37:42

I hope to hit it between 1:15-1:17 (depending on weather, course distance accuracy, etc.) 2 years ago I ran this same race in 1:15:49. I would like minimally to finish at least at a 5:55 pace (1:17:30).

I would love to join you, but my daughter's are headed to church camp on Saturday so I have to get up real early to do my run. Which will be on the Poky course for the 6th week in a row.
