Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

7 slow miles early on a cool, windy day...argh Monday and back to work!  (Tornado)

7M in 49 minutes on a beautiful day at lunch...sunny and warm but with a good breeze out of the south.  Easy paced run for most of the run (knee was twinging a little bit) except for when I crossed paths with a guy who puffed up his chest at me as we met instead of returning my wave.  So, I proceeded to speed up to a slow MP to beat him back to the light then dropped his ass as we took off around the river...a running snob in IF looking down on me, nice!  (Defyance)

Didn't he know who you are? That is too funny.

It is just I haven't run into too many snobs in my years of running, then to get a big headed dude here of all places. Not that I think I am hot $#!%, but c'mon man when I can smoke you at slow MP don't act all tough. EVERYONE else I run by I wave at and they respond so I tend to think of myself as a friendly runner.

Great start to the mileage this week! I can't stand ego maniac runners and cyclists.

Hey Jeff, I have run around the greenbelt a few times at lunch and there are couple of "running snobs" out there. I wave and get the head cocked or the eyes dead straight on. I don't get it...

There's a guy I pass while running near my house at least once a week. For eight years I've been waving, nodding my head, saying hi and for eight years nothing from him.

If he only knew who you were...

You know what the best thing to do with people like this? Pray for them and let God get a hold of them, He can do a better job than any of us can do! Also, i was accepted into the Brooks shoes testing and can you give me any advice on what to do to receive shoes? Thanks

From jtshad on Tue, Jun 22, 2010 at 12:49:47 from 204.134.132.225

Barry, I don't know if there is anything you can do to get them to send you shoes besides being quick to respond when they do send you a request for interest. Pretty cool that you are a Lab Rat too!
