Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

9M early on a warmer (45 degrees) and windy day but no rain (though I expected some).  Nice and easy pace as my left hammy was once again talking to me, plus it still takes me a while to wake up. (T3)

Got my official invite yesterday to become a member of the PowerBar Team Elite...pretty cool benefit from the raffle in Boston.

Will try to get a run in at lunch before heading out on business travel this afternoon and not returning until Thursday night.  Hope to get a few good runs in either outside or on the hotel TM (calling for pretty good thunderstorms on Wed/Thurs where I am heading).

6M at lunch before heading to the airport.  Started off easy, then ran the middle 3M at MP.  Weather was strange...warm but windy then for the last mile I was hailed on...that stung a bit.   (Stratos 3)

Got to the airport then off to my destination ok, now time for bed.  Have a later start tomorrow so I hope to get a longer run in tomorrow morning before work stuff.

Heading anywhere fun on your trip?

So do you have any more details on the PB Team? Should we expect you to pace someone next year at Boston?

From jtshad on Tue, May 05, 2009 at 10:02:36 from 204.134.132.225

No, heading to Detroit.

PB Team: free gear, product. Extra $ if I get publicity for PB (expected actually!), put on clinics about health, nutrition, running, etc. I can sponsor events or work with RD's on PB sponsorships and get PB products to promote at the events.

Detroit. Hmm.

Sounds like a good deal- hope you like their food! Is PB tied to any shoe companies? The clinics part sounds fun, something you would enjoy. Does this mean you will be wearing their gear rather than FRB?

Wow - that is awesome Jeff! I have told you that I use powergel faithfully? ;-)

Does this mean you get some of those cool arm-warmers that Josh Cox was wearing?

From jtshad on Tue, May 05, 2009 at 23:03:54 from 67.152.242.197

Yep, if I want to order them (which I will!).

Congratulations Jeff. I would wear their stuff to if you want to get their product. It's good stuff.
