Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M early this morning that were not "easy".  Decent temp (37 degrees) but what a wind...25 mph steady with huge gusts made it tough going this morning which was early again (4:15) as Kami had to leave for work by 5:30.   This morning I am staying home with my daughter as our kid sitter (my dad) is unavailable today.  Will try to get a run in after I drop her off at school before I head into work.

total time: 44:59  (Old Trigons - 610 miles)

Walked my daugther to school then ran 4M around  the neighborhood in very gusty and strong winds.  When I was running south, really had to work hard to stay anywhere near pace.

total time: 27:30  (New Trigons - 68 miles)

25mph!!! I thought we had it bad with 10-15mph...

From Jon on Tue, Apr 15, 2008 at 13:02:51

I tried to warn you yesterday that the good weather wouldn't last.

From wheakory on Tue, Apr 15, 2008 at 14:53:04

Jeff - It's awful but way to get out there and do two runs. Great dedication! When I ran this morning it was over 20mph too, but it really wasn't too cold which was nice.

Wow! 610 miles on your Trigon... I'm almost at 400 on mine.

Are you getting ready for your vacation?

From jtshad on Tue, Apr 15, 2008 at 14:57:11

Hey, Kory. Yep, 610 miles and they could still handle a few more short runs.

The wind today was brutal, but the temp really wasn't bad as you indicated.

Yes, were are jazzed about the trip. Almost 3 days on the beach in St. Pete, temps ranging from high 60's to low 80's. Nothing planned but time relaxing on the beach and spending together. I will get in at least 3-4 runs as well, but likely nothing really long.

Are you psyched for SLC marathon? What is the weather prediction right now? I will be rooting for you!

When do you leave?

From jtshad on Tue, Apr 15, 2008 at 15:01:31

We head out on Thursday, our 15th anniversary (yes we are an OLD married couple...but better than ever!), and come back on Sunday night. Then I travel for wrok next week on Tu-Th. So, lots of plane rides again (I am NOT getting the flu these times!).

Yes, don't get sick but do have tons of fun.
