Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

10M run in Driggs, ID early.  Ran south on Main for 3M into a stiff headwind then turned back and went up the Targhee Mountain road for 2M then headed back to the condo.  Cold at the start but was very hot by the end.  Overall a good easy run in 1:14.  (T3)

3M running down the bunny hill (magic carpet run) healing the kids try out downhill skiing for the first time.  The hill is about 0.1M long and I was running down and sometime back up for most the day as the kids learned to "make a pizza" and "french fry" down the hill.  By the end of the day my daughter had it down and was going by herself while my son nearly got the hang of it by himself.  A good intro to skiing that we will do more of next winter.  I am pooped after doing this in snowboats!

3 miles in snowboots? Knowing you, it was at sub-6:00 pace!

Sounds like a nice hill workout! Definitely extra points for doing it in snow boots.

Jon, no different than the hiking boots I wore during that one run in IF!

Glad I had the magic carpet to ride back up the hill most of the time.

Sounds fun Jeff, did you stay with or get to see the Plums?

From jtshad on Tue, Mar 31, 2009 at 12:03:11 from 204.134.132.225

Rachel, no we didn't stay with the Plums, we stayed some other friends who have lived in IF for 2.5 years. We now know more and more folks with places in Driggs.

Wendy Russell lives there now too! It is so beautiful! I especially enjoy hiking there every year for Rob's birthday. We take the ski lift up to the top and walk back down.
