Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

8M strong on the TM at the gym this morning.  1M warmup, then the rest at an avg. sub-6:00 with 4 0.25M 5:00 pace pickups during the run.  Pace felt great and the run was good.

My son ran another mile on the TM last night and is doing great and is excited every night to run.  His smile was huge when I told him he was running at 5 mph!

Went and saw "Spirit of the Marathon" last night.  Overall a good documentary with a good mix of elite and regular marathoners mixed in.  Interesting to see the how the different training programs work across the country...amazed by the organization of the Chicago area runners association group runs.  I am much more like the Lori gal in doing most my stuff solo, but enjoy the company when I get it!

total time: 47:35  (Trigon - 223 miles)

6.8M easy run at lunch time around the greeenbelt.  Heat wave today as the temp during my run reached 22 degrees, sunny and no wind!  Uneventful run after a good tempo run this morning.  My right achilles was a bit twingy, but the more I ran the better it felt.

total time: 50:00 (Saucony T2 - 289 miles)

Good runs. I ran that same greenbelt, but that heat wave must have missed me. It shows 15 degrees now and it was at 10 right before I went out. It was nice and sunny though.

Wish I had been there with you, all those temps sound warm after this past week!

Nice Runs! Your looking strong. I believe the weather is suppose to get a little warmer. I hope so I'm tired of running in single digits. Your muscles just don't seem to flow as well.

Today's temp was actually not bad at all. I was dressed plenty warm and did not have any signs of frostbite. I'd prefer to be in the 20's, but we're getting there.

Apple Athletic Club just called and asked if we could keep Shadley from running on their treadmills. Apparently he is burning them up...not used to those speeds.

Not that the work with a @#!% anyways, might as well burn them up before the breakdown by themselves!

I heard that they work fine if you stay under 9 mph....
