Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

7.5M run this morning on the TM at the gym.  Good run with 8 0.25M pickups at between 5:00 - 5:50 pace.  Rest of the run at about a 6:25 pace.  Legs feel great and runs are really good.

Total time:  44:50  (Saucony Trigon - 172 miles)

4.75M at lunch on very slick and snowy path around the river.  3M with Dan S at a decent clip for the conditions, then I picked in up for a while.  Met up with Dan again and we finished the last 0.25M at a 5:55 pace!  Way to go Dan!

total time:  36:27  (Saucony T2 - 282 miles)

Hey--Aren't you the same guy who ran a fast marathon last Sunday? What are you, super man or something? I can't believe you aren't sore and are doing fast miles already. Perhaps you should come down and race Painters if you're feeling so good!

From jtshad on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 10:04:09

I don't quite know why I am feeling so good, but I will take it (I would trade it for more pain now and about 4 minutes faster at PF Chang!). I would love to do Painter's, but wife would kill me plus we have a 40th birthday party for a life long friend to attend in Ogden on Saturday.

Good luck on Saturday, you will do great!

6 am at Community park sounds fine for Saturday. [Note to self- get check up with psychologist. I just said waking up early and running in very cold temperatures on my day off is ok].

Yes, we met with 3 realtors and ended up going with the one your mom referred. You will have to thank her for us.

Runners = Sadists...'nough said.

From Dan S on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 17:52:32

Great run! If we do that again, you may want to take out some life insurance on me.

From Jeff Fogg on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 17:56:42

5:55 pace on that ice. I was out there today! I'm taking out policies on both of you!!

This was on the one stretch of dry pavement we found, the road heading to the University Place...Dan really picked it up and was running hard!

We need the sun and warmth, fellas, as does most everyone on the FRB it seems. It is even going to be in the 20 and 30's this weekend in St. George for the Painter's HM.

From Jeff Fogg on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 18:02:09

It was snowing...how did you find "dry pavement". That is some good speed for those conditions (for any conditions in my book).
