Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

7.5M on the TM at the gym this morning.  Did this as a MP run in preparation for the Jan. 13 race.  I warmed up 1M easy (6:50), then hit goal MP for 3M (5:52), 1M slow MP to get rid of stich in my side (6:25), 1M at MP (5:52), .25M easier (6:30), 0.5M at VO2max (5:00), 0.25M cooldown (6:35), 0.25M VO2 max (5:00), 0.25M cooldown (6:45).  Overall a good TM workout trying to get body acclimated to goal MP for PF Chang's.

total time:  45:15  (Saucony Trigon - 132 miles)

4.9M run at lunch in really cold weather (10 degrees, 3 degrees with wind chill) at an easy 6:45 pace.  Just a easy run to keep legs fresh and taper madness down.

total time:  33:00  (Saucony T2 - 267 miles)

Good run, man. What is your goal finish time for PF Chang's?

Sounds like a high quality workout. Way to run!

I indicated a goal of 2:35 when I registered. I am still targeting the following goals: 2:35-gold, 2:37-silver, 2:40-bronze.

Good luck in your upcoming marathon!

With that run you accomplished your goal pace. Doing some VO2max work before a marathon from what I've read really seems to help performance wise. Nice run Jeff. What was the temperature in IF this morning? I really should have run inside.

Good job on your tune up work out!

I bet you get some looks at the gym when you're rolling along at 5:00/mile pace! Good workout.
