"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Often, I blog about how I'm not going to run on a particular day, and then before the day is done I end up running after all. I'm hoping this will be the case today. But I'm not holding my breath. But I probably should hold my breath because the air in this dirty little town is brown and thick today.

So, it looks like December is going to be an easier month also. That's three full months of 40-50 mile weeks, and a couple or so 5 day weeks (instead of the consistent 6 days of running per week). I've built a good base the last year and a half, and it took a lot out of me leading up to the TOU marathon in September. I feel really well rested now and capable of pushing the mileage again starting in January as I prepare for the Ogden marathon in May.
