"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka
"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Started around noon. Sunny, 35F, light breezes made for a frozen face. Didn't feel too good starting out but ended up going farther than I had planned. Got a drink of water at the fairground (11.5 mile), and felt better.

Good easy recovery run. Sunny, 35F, light breezes. This is like the second or third day that the air quality in our stinky little valley is considered dangerous. Recommended no strenuous excersize outside etc. I ran 15 miles in it yesterday and 6 today and so far I feel fine. We need a storm to move in and wash out the dirty air!
Ran from the house to LPT, out and back. |

Afternoon delight. Lunch time run in the gobbledygook known as "The Inversion". I could taste the air when I began the run, but by the end I didn't notice it anymore.
Jensen park/west Layton, sunny, smarmy, 34F, freezing face breeze.
I dedicate this run to the Prez. |
