"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

11.2 miles / 9:07 avg. Stunningly beautiful morning. Sunshine, started at 22F and ended at 32F.

Nice and easy pace. Peaceful Sunday morning (except for the 20 minutes or so that folks were making their way to and from church).

Sounds beautiful! Great chill weather. We've got warmish rain and absolutely howling winds. I'm still indoors on the stationary bike, so what do I care?

Br! Good run.

That was a cold run. I hope the sunshine made it bearable.

So were the church-goers not peaceful? (I say that tongue-in-cheek have spent the last several years dragging kids to church myself.)

Auntieem - sounds like you picked a good time to be stuck inside on the bike. Hope you heal up soon.

Thanks Snoqualmie. Winter has arrived. Pretty much.

Carolyn - sunshine makes a big difference, at least mentally.

It's funny about the church-goers on Sundays. I'll be kickin' back in the yard, listening to the birds chirp, feeling the warm sun on me, all quiet and peaceful. Then at about the same time, dozens of cars will start zooming up and down the roads. Some of the drivers seems quite anxious and angry, but I suspect they're the same drivers who drive that way during the week too.
