"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

No sleep, again. This is getting old. I'm doing everything right. I fall asleep usually before 11:00 PM. Then two hours later I wake up...and stay awake until 5:00 AM. It's really starting to put a dent in my training. I'm really starting to consider dropping out of  TOU.  I've changed up my training so many times to accommodate the insomnia that I've strayed very far from where I wanted to be at this point, less than 4 weeks from the marathon! I've had to try to run more miles in the afternoons to make up for missed morning runs, but it's always much warmer in the afternoons, and I'm not getting in the mileage I had hoped for. Frustration.

Seems like I've been whining a lot lately...

Hope to get a run in later this afternoon.

Ran an easy 4 on the fire break road.

Stop whining! Seriously, I don't think you should worry about the mileage so much. Your training has been awsome and inspiring. Your fast miles this morning were great!

Lack of sleep is very frustrating. My Dr. and I finally agreed that I needed a sleeping aid. It seems weird to be doing that, since I've always been all natural health and stuff, but it does WORK! When I take it, I sleep.

You never know what will happen on race day, or how you will feel. You can always decide to fun-run it as a super long run w/ free snacks if the stars don't line up right. Seems a shame to bag it altogether 'cuz, you know, you will miss getting the shirt!

Thanks for the support. You know how it is when you lack sleep, and you're up in the middle of the night, and every little thing gets blown out of proportion, that's where I'm at right now. So, I'm sure I won't drop TOU...it just feels good to say I will when all I want to do is sleep. I should have written for day time drama television the way I've been carrying on!

Somebody, quick, call the "Waaa"mbulance!

YOU WONT DROP OUT! YOU ARE NOT A QUITTER! DAMNIT! Do you need me to come up there and shake you?? DRINK!! Now go take some tylenol pm and go to sleep.

Hmmmm. I hope you're able to get some sleep. But auntieem is right. Your training has been awesome. You shouldn't worry about TOU. You are well prepared. Maybe a sleep aid is what you need.
