"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

I think we're getting the same cold front the day after you get it. It's supposed to be much cooler on Saturday and Sunday. I'm looking forward to it.

yay!

Good job with the doubles.

From JD on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 16:18:46 from 64.65.159.206

Thanks Carolyn - did you get a cold front in your area last weekend? We did, it was like a little oasis in the dead of a hot Summer!

Me likey doubles. Eventually (like in a year or two), I'll work up to doing them 5 days a week.

Lysa - Yay back!

I don't remember a cold front last weekend, but it wasn't too bad for my race, so maybe it was a bit cooler than usual.

From JD on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 17:39:07 from 64.65.159.206

Speaking of your race, I meant to ask if you wore the ST3's and if so, how'd they do?

From Snoqualmie on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 17:48:12 from 24.18.192.33

Nice double. Cold front good. Lost verbs...

From JD on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 19:10:34 from 209.183.51.62

Thanks Sno - verbs overrated...

From auntieem on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 22:09:41 from 67.182.145.8

Wow, JD, nice mileage this week! You should try one of our cold fronts to toughen you up.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 00:15:03 from 24.8.167.243

Are you asking me about the ST3s, JD? If so, yes, I wore them for the race and they worked great except that the blister on the bottom of my foot, that I had popped two days before, came back to life with a vengeance, but I don't think that was necessarily the fault of the shoes. I wore the shoes today on my 8 mile progression and had no blister action.

From JD on Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 15:44:23 from 64.65.159.206

Thanks Auntieem. I hope to try out the Northwest sometime in the not too distant future. Friends of mine moved to Twisp a couple of years ago. I helped them caravan there stuff up there and spent a couple of weeks in the Methow Valley. Part of me wants to move there someday.

Carolyn - Do you think you would use those shoes in a marathon. The blister could have been a product of the shoes, but now that hot spot has grown a tolerance to the fit.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 16:19:39 from 24.8.167.243

Yes, I do think I could wear those shoes in a marathon.
