"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

thats great. I need a recovery run, my legs are so sore from the pounding down hill that i can barely go up and down my stairs and you should see me trying to brace myself just to sit on the toilet and pee!

Nice run... is it pizza... I love pizza after a long run.

From JD on Mon, Aug 10, 2009 at 21:42:40 from 166.203.55.70

Yes Lori, you are correct. A frozen pizza. It sais the whole pizza is three servings, but it barely fills me up! I must be eating for three somehow!

JD, nice run yesterday! I'm so impressed. I would never have guessed its a frozen pizza.

I have my first 20 mile run on Saturday! I'm excited; I've never done it before. I am sure I will not want pizza at the end. But maybe...

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 10:01:53 from 24.8.167.243

That pizza is 1200 calories all by itself? Yikes!

From JD on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 11:07:05 from 64.65.159.206

Auntieem - Thanks. Good luck on your 20 miler. Looking forward to reading about it. Maybe you could carry a frozen slice of pizza with you, then after an hour and a half it will be warm enough to eat.

Carolyn - Yeah, 400 calories per serving, and the pizza is 3 servings. Makes me wonder how many calories a deep dish Pizza Hut pizza has!

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 20:22:30 from 71.219.82.15

I eat pizza the night before every long run and race. I HOPE I do not eat 1200 calories worth, though. What the heck kind of frozen pizza is it???

From JD on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 20:40:29 from 166.216.128.75

Kelli - Digornio's, thin crust even. I'm guessing the pizza's from actual pizza joints are much higher in calories. Great way to fill up!

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 20:42:38 from 71.219.82.15

Hmmm.....I think it is Pizza for dinner tonight. Papa Murphy's has some artichoke pizza Scott wants to try. SICK!!!! I am gonna get the fattiest one I can find just so you can feel okay about your calories!
