"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Had the morning off so I didn't run until 7:30 AM. Clear and 65 degrees. Drove to LPT and ran less than I had planned. Thought I was ready for a workout today...WRONG. It took so much effort this morning to garner an 8:31 pace for 6 miles. Looks like this will be an easy week for me.

You should definitely take an easy week if you feel like you need it.

I agree with Carolyn on this one; listening to your body is the best method of injury prevention, and a down week is actually fairly beneficial for your training every now and then...

True that!

I take down weeks often!! JUST DO IT!

You have had an awesome week of training so far, it is okay to be tired, right? Get some sleep!

I still think you had a really good run. You kept an awesome pace. You should have a celebration party for yourself for going out and doing it anyway. Maybe celebrate by going on a drive with a few pee stops.

Lysa - thanks. Ah yes, a little D & P through Morgan county would be quite refreshing...

Some days are like that. Way to get in the miles.

From JD on Wed, Jun 03, 2009 at 15:44:04 from 64.65.159.206

Thanks Paul. Thankfully, those days are few and far between.
