"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

6:00 AM. Clear, 55 degrees, breezy. 11 miles from the house to LPT out, came back on the cattle road. Such a nice morning outside! Ran easy pace.

If the fates allow, I'll run a short one later...

Thanks, Fates. Got out around 2:00 PM. Mostly sunny, 79 degrees, windy, and a little thunder where the clouds were bunching up against the mountains to the East. 5.5 miles at an 8:50 pace doing one mile loops on the boardwalk at the nature preserve.

11 miles in the morning and you want to do more later in the day? You really are becoming a mileage junky.

thats fun, i love running when there is a storm rolling in, its fun to beat it. good work!! Arent you tired for your 2nd run? does it take a while to get into it, or do you just feel good right away? Maybe if your preparing for it mentally it wouldnt be bad, it just seems like going out after resting for just a couple of hours would be hard.

The hard part today was that I had a great high going after this mornings run, but by the time I could get out for the second run the high was long gone. Just like most runs though, after warming up I felt great.
