"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Nice run today! I think the temp sign I ran past this morning said 18 degrees also. The hazy is getting crazy!

Yes Lori, it's the crazy, hazy, Winter daze!

From april27 on Mon, Dec 28, 2009 at 19:08:58 from 99.188.251.180

Wow that is chilly!

From Snoqualmie on Mon, Dec 28, 2009 at 19:36:40 from 24.18.192.33

Whoa, that's cold for 10 AM! Hope Santa brought you warm things to run in.

Come up to Park City and run with me here. You'll be above the haze that way.

So are you doing doubles now?

From JD on Mon, Dec 28, 2009 at 23:15:03 from 209.183.51.66

That's a really good idea Carolyn. I'm always looking for an excuse to go to Park City. What day/time would work for you? I'll see what I can do!

My time is not my own and my family might freak out if a strange man showed up to run with me. If we could get Lori to come down from Ogden, so that it wasn't just you (not that I would mind but my family might be bothered) then I could manage something in the AM on Friday.

From JD on Tue, Dec 29, 2009 at 15:03:47 from 70.96.78.157

Hahaha! Kind of like high school huh? So funny how different families are. My wife and I both socialize with people of the opposite sex and no one thinks twice about it. In any event Friday AM's not so good for me, what with New Years Eve the night before, plus needing an hour or more start to get there (depending on the weather).

I'm not consciously doing doubles right now, just slowly bring the volume up so it will be easier to run some higher mileage weeks over the next few months.
