Getting back into the doubles?

From Jason D on Fri, Mar 07, 2014 at 23:27:51 from 24.1.80.94

I've been doubling on race days and workouts as has been my habit, but indeed this is my first non-race, non-workout day double since October. I missed a few miles yesterday and my workout was late so I wanted to make sure I cleared my legs. Might double tomorrow to get my miles in without beating myself up. If not, I'll do 8-10 as I have been. Sunday is the important day.

One thing I've notice with the very few doubles I've done is that they don't beat you up. Your legs may feel some fatigue but there's no lingering feeling like you'd have from a 13 mile run.

Agreed. 10-13 miles doesn't beat me up like it used to, but splitting 13-14 miles between two runs is easier on the body. I've tried longer singles this buildup and it seems to be working fine. I will say that doubles are good when you are trying to build mileage. You can run 70-80 in a week without a long run.
