Marathon pace (MP) day. I should have pushed this workout to Thursday to give myself a day of rest from speed in between. The workout: 4 x 1 mile @ 6:40-7:00 pace w/800 meter (1/2 mile) jogging recovery in between. My MP should be 6:49 to hit my goal time, so the plan was to keep it as close to that as possible. My splits were: 6:48, 6:45, 6:54, and 6:59. That last one was hard. Average split time was 6.51 so not too bad. I think I will make my speed workout on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday so I can rest for a day in between them from now on. |
