I've got a perfect record going this week for trips up to flag rock and I wasn't going to let a little snow and rain ruin that.  As soon as the sun came out at 5pm I was lobbying my wife for the chance to get out there.  Due to operator error my Garmin report is basically useless so it's a good thing I did this route yesterday so I know the elevation gain and mileage. The one thing the Garmin can still tell me is my elapsed time, which today is 1:23:02 seconds. That's 2 minutes faster than yesterday but slower than I know I can do this route. The upper bench and the rest of the trail, all the way to the rock, was covered in 1-2 inches of snow.  It made the up hill a bit slippery but not bad.  However, the downhill was much slower than it otherwise would have been. Without snow I think I could take another couple minutes off this time.

You are more hearty than me. I shivered thinking about all that rain/Slurpee that fell today.

More fool-hearty maybe. I didn't even think about the cold until I started my descent from flag rock and ended up running in the slurpee soup that was covering the trail. It soaked my feet and caused me to contemplate cutting the run short, which if my garmin had been working I might have done.
