Easy run down the fire break followed by a trip up to flag rock. Right at the base of the switchbacks I ran into a heard of deer. I counted 8. They ran away quickly.

that's not what I did today, but that is the general plan. I figure speedgoat is a lot of steep uphill followed by steep downhill so what could be better than mimicking that for my training. Today I was tired so I did some flatter miles before hitting flag rock.

Yeah totally - I plan to hit that up fairly often as well! I was curious how bad that north side trail is these days. Looked like there was still some snow up there.

It is still muddy in spots on the south side so I imagine there is quite a bit of mud and some snow on the north side. I may attempt it this weekend anyway.
