Provo Haunted Half 5K today. It was a good race. It was a little cold at the start, but I was mostly okay. I decided to go with the lead pack of about 4 guys even though they loooked faster than me. The first mile was 5:33, I felt good and was still with the pack. They sped up after about 2000 meters, and I fell back a little. At the second mile I had 11:06, I was still feeling good but starting to get tired. My next mile was 5:50, which was uphill. I was pretty tired, but I had a pretty good kick to the finish and ended up with 17:29. First place was 17:15, Second had 17:17, and Third got 17:21. I don't know how I managed to get 4th place because I was pretty sure there were 4 guys ahead of me. There is a long tube thing at the end, so maybe I passed someone there. Overall I think it was a good race, a 26 second road 5K PR.
