Short-Term Running Goals: Increase my energy levels so that I can keep up with my demanding jobs (Mother of Five, Wife of Father of Five, Chef, Housekeeper, Uncertified Phone Counselor, to name a few:).
Strengthen my heart and improve my circulation.
Grow some muscles! (It's about time!)
Run four miles at once... sometime in the next 2 yrs, anyway. :) Long-Term Running Goals: I'd like to still have the strength and energy to do things when I'm old. I'd also like to stay in one peice until then! Personal: I have been married almost 9 years to Practically-Perfect Jeremy. We have five dear children 7yo and under. I rollerbladed as a teenager. For 18 mo, I walked a few times a week until about a year ago. I tried running w/ wonderful running partner last year, but that tapered off. We had a hard time matching schedules and I wasn't committed enough to do it alone. After an inspiring meeting with Sasha and Sarah, I am recommitted to regular exercise. I may run, or I may fast-walk. The point is to get MOVING, again. Please bear with my pitiful mileage. Supermommy runs all day, and doing that properly is my #1 priority. |

| I ran. I didn't die. The weather was gorgeous, the company was great, and I couldn't help but enjoy it... a little bit. I must admit, though - I always thought THIS speed running was called, "jogging." Where's the thrill of flying in this slow, jostling sport? |

| Lybi is SO ready to help me sign up for a marathon, and I feel terribly guilty that I am nowhere near that thought. After my complaints about the pokey running 07/30, Lybi said maybe we could try running as fast as I wanted. I guess I should have just trusted her before. :/ I flew on our evening run, and it was fun, but all too soon came the pain. My side hurt soon, too, and I just wanted to walk. When I thought we were home and it was all over, Lybi declared a race. Not to be outdone, I pulled out my Inner Runner (her name's "Breaking the Wind," incidentally:D) and pounded the pavement that last tenth of a mile. It's a good thing Lybi talked me into that. It brought my smile back. She was so kind to let me win. :) |

| I am dying. I am dead. I hurt everywhere. With my vigorous running last night, I accessed muscles I didn't know I had, and every last one hurts. Ohhhh I think I'm going to take Lybi's advice and start slow. Ouch. |

| I don't know. I wasn't actually running for two miles. I tried. I just was still too sore. Hopefully tomorrow I won't feel as poorly, since my running is an easier pace. |

I ran with Lybi "over the river and through the woods" from her house to mine. ...You may be able to tell from the mileage it's not much of a trip, but it actually was a great accomplishment for me. It seemed so far when Lybi suggested it. I really feel great that I made it, with only brief breaks to walk. Lybi is such a great friend. |
