They weren't running miles -- they were rollerblading. Since I DID feel my knee that day, just going about my business, I was nervous to pound the pavement by running. I also had a bad afternoon and needed to fly a little. :) I went w/ Paige and my sister. We went even further with Paige than with Lybi. Paige kept up pretty well, and even declared a Gurr sister race (we married brothers). Poor Paige blew a wheel halfway back to my sister's house, and had to carry her skates and run in her socks! She was back there, biding her time, while we rollerbladed alternating fast and slow so we wouldn't get too far ahead of her. Then, all of the sudden, she passed us, running like her LEGS were wheels, saying, "Wanna race, girls?" :D It was amazing and so funny! She was ultra-fast. I tried, but couldn't THINK of beating her on rollerblades (at least not from the speed I was starting at... but maybe not at all). It was fun to see that side of Paige. She is super-sweet, but at that point, I saw she knew how to have fun being competitive, too. |
