No AM due to meeting

Evening:  2 mile w-up, 6x1 mile - goal 5:35 pace w/ 1 min recovery, temp nice cool 55, but a NE cross wind of 12-15 mph made these mile repeats a little tougher.  Just tried to keep the effort in the 90% range on these tempo intervals.  All felt good running with flat legs today in 5:27, 5:31, 5:31, 5:31, 5:31, 5:25., quick 1 mile cooldown before I jetted off to pick up Jameson.

I think my legs are a little flat from not sleeping well last night.  I keep thinking my 1st attempt at managing a large track invitational for my track team this May.  So many things to plan!  The end of the school year is always jam packed with stuff.  Jumps and Hopes for Heart, track galore, oh and a end of year field day, 8th grade graduation planning, etc....  Ahhh

Here's a link to the county paper that put me on the front page and did a nice little write up of the Boston participants from the area.

Nice workout - way to settle into those 5:31s and then knock it down at the end.

Nice article too - still can't believe you poisoned yourself. Clyde (Superfly) did a similar self-poisoning before UVM last June... what's with you guys?!?! :-)

For me it's too many irons in the fire!

I only share my experience in hope no other runners suffer the same fate. I went out the next day and purchased a vitamin organizer with labels for travel. Jen says I'm lucky I didn't have a seizure. It could have been a lot worse.

Oh, so running in the heat was not a big enough challenge huh? I'm not borrowing any pills from you ;) good article, thanks for sharing!

I love how small towns do write-ups like this! And the fact that almost nobody understands the difference between a 2:30 and a 3:30 marathon :)

Nice workout today! Looks like you're going to be busy the next couple of weeks.

Sweet workout Erik!

I agree Andrea, I have found I get the same response from non-running people even if I tell them I am trying to break 2 hours ... they don't quite comprehend! lol

People think I'm some kind of running god around here. It's funny because I can only wonder what they would think of Jake's insane mileage and performances :-)

I had to laugh about the picture in the paper copy. They have a different one of me running without my shirt (kind of taboo for a teacher in a small town), anyway I look like an 80 year old man! Worst of all it's front and center on the cover page.

It only adds more insult to injury for my vitamin overdose and slow time ;-0 I found myself trying to avoid people out of cheer embarrassment today.
