I ordered some Micro Spikes - amazing performance!  I had zero slipping on some serious ice today.  You won't regret purchasing these, worth every penny.  I've tried screws and Yak Tracks, neither work like the Micro Spikes.

Picked up a small cold, nothing but annoying at this point.  Doc says I have hamstring tendinitis and quad tendinosis, that's the bad news.  The good news no structural damage or arthritis in the knee.  The prescription is basically months of PT and rehab to break up scar tissue and I'll be like new again. The other good news is neither injury really bothers me too much running low mileage at a slow pace.  I'll continue to build mileage until it does bother me then back down until it doesn't hurt.  I'll maintain mileage and intensity until everything is healed up at a level that doesn't further hurt the hammy or knee.  No plans for racing anything this year until I've accomplished rehab.

Cool about the spikes. Hope the rehab works quickly and gets you back to where you want to be training.

Merry Christmas!

I'll have to look into those. What are your hamstring symptoms? Mine has been buggin' since before boston, but its never turned into something serious.

Micro spikes are amazing. I'm glad we usually don't have to use them, though :-)

My hamstring hurts at two spots, the butt and upper calf. My range of motion has been really limited. When I run fast or run hills it stiffens up and I loose power. If I stay in a 7:30-8:00 min pace range I can run with no pain, but it does get stiff if I run mileage (60's on up even if the mileage is slower). It's frustrating because I can kind of train through it and still race, which I did most of this year. Yet, my legs will only open up to about a 6 min flat pace for a sustained race. Anything faster and the hamstring tires, stiffens up, and becomes too painful. Last year I was clicking off faster paces, so I know it's been a limiting factor. I used races to sustain fitness and managed to have a fun year of racing this year, but it's time to face reality. If I don't hold back and rehab this hamstring it's going to limit me or maybe sideline me in 2013.
