AM: 5 miles around Fort.  I had a hard time getting started this morning 10:01 pace for the 1st mile.  Avg. 8:22  I was quite tired and hungry too.  Nonetheless, just rolled with what the legs and body gave me for the morning.  My wife and son are sick so I hope I'm not coming down with something.  I've successfully avoided getting sick the last two times they did by constantly washing my hands and using a long stick to keep them away :-)

Afternoon:  Lifts and Core

Evening:  8 miles to River Park (7:42 pace) 1st mile was only a little faster today @ 9:00 pace.  I just generally felt tired today.  Hopefully, some good sleep tonight will make a difference.

keep using that long stick!

nice job going with what you had this morning -- my first mile is nearly always in the high 9's or low 10's in the early morning. meh. your body knows best!

I "bragged" on our run Saturday about how some mornings I can make the speed check thingy for cars say "6 MPH" when I run by the one near our place

When I was in college we had a built in speed checker on the street we lived on. Usually, by the end of a party night all the track guys were trying to best each other on speed. I think the fastest I ever hit was 18 or 19 mph. We had a couple of guys cracking 20.

Michael Scott once hit 31 MPH

Hope you can avoid the bug. Are you still shooting for sub-2:30 at Boston?

I had never seen that episode of Office - hilarious!

Jeff - honestly I'm not sure? I did my tempo over the weekend thinking 2:35 because that's what mcmillan says is my conversion from the 8K I recently ran. However, I've been gaining fitness at a rapid rate over the past 4 weeks. I averaged 5:53 pace (2:34 marathon) and had a ton left in the tank even with a fast finish to the tempo I ran this weekend. The last 3 I knew pretty much what I was going to shoot for. This one could be a blow up because I'm just not sure yet.
