8.61 miles w/6 hard hill sprints on the bigger hills during the run.  I'm so ready to just start pounding out the doubles, but I'm going to try and hold off while incorporate quality speed training 1st.

The hill sprints are something I need to start incorporating. They make me a little nervous, b/c I used to get some achilles aches. But I'm a lot more durable now... and there's no better way to recruit FT muscles!

Those hill sprints can mess with the achilles, but if done right I think they can really strengthen the connective tissue and prevent injury.

I noticed if I keep them in the 8-15 sec. range I don't get tight or sore. In fact they do the opposite, basically they act as strides that loosen me up. I probably only hit 100% effort on the last 1-2, but use the others to build up effort. Most of the time I do them after the run with a walk down the hill recovery.
