Duel in the Desert vs. Pineview. Held at BHNP (course record: 16:08. Held by Kale Sharp). Cool and rainy day. Couldn't ask for better weather! Went out with the top group, and just stuck right behind the lead PV kid. We let him lead for the first mile. After the first mile, Scotty took off and stole the lead, and I stuck right behind him (shout out to Scotty for two slip n' falls around the hairpin on laps 2 & 3. Way to take it like a boss!) 3rd lap Matthew took off, and I went with him. I tried to stay as close to him as possible, but I was just too gassed from the 2nd lap. At about 800 m. to go, Riley and a PV kid started to pass me, and I said "Nope! Not gonna happen!" I passed the PV kid with about 50 m to go, but Riley out kicked me by about a second. I got 17:03. Pretty solid time, especially on this course.
Barefoot cooldown with Scotty and a couple PV boys. Pretty good day.

| 3 in the morning. Smaller workout in the afternoon. We did a 1 mile power run on the track (5:10), then cut down finishes (400, 350, 300, 250, 200, 150). I'm feeling pretty awesome, and I'm ready to kill it at CV this weekend!

| Canyon View today. This is a chance for the top JV boys to run varsity while they're at Woodbridge, and I was expecting to do good. I got out fast, and settled right into my pace. Scott started dropping the pace after the 1st mile or so, and I stuck pretty close to him. I finished strong, and almost caught Scotty at the very end. I ran a 16:35. I feel pretty good about it. Hoping to PR or break 16 @ Nebo!
