Went to practice but turned back early because me and Ashton are going to summit Mount Superior and Monte Cristo later. 6 total including running flyers before practice. Later Ashton and I headed up Little Cottonwood. We got a late start and didn't make it to the trailhead until 7:00, but we just made sure to keep the pace honest and try not to take very many breaks. The first mile and a half wasn't very technical, but very steep and my calves were burning hardcore. Once we got up to the ridge running became impossible, and the last mile to the summit took about 45 minutes probly. Lots of Rock scrambling and climbing, which made for a fun time. We got to the top of Superior and saw that a storm was rolling in so we hurried over to the peak of Monte Cristo, then started scurrying back down the ridge. We made it back to the car right as we ran out of light, and it started raining. It was a good thing we hurried because getting caught on top of a mountain in that storm could have been pretty ugly. |
