Got to the race at 2:30 and went inside and talked to Jerem and Cole Gray for a while before I headed out. I warmed up with all the other milers and did some strides. Gun went off and I faded into the middle of the pack pretty quick. I just kind of followed behind Little Warner for the whole first lap. we came through at 70 seconds for 400. Pretty good. The next lap we came through at 2:23, which is what I've come through 800 in at every race so far this year. The third lap Tanner moved up next to me and I ran with him through 1200 where our split was 3:37. He passed me and I just tried to hang on until the end but he ended beating me by less than a second. Afterward I cooled down with Walton, who showed up to watch and Mahonri. |
