AM: Not really a good description for that race as I bonked. I feel embarrassed to have gotten into a marathon without having made several good long runs. I ran a marathon in May and started to late with the training. I know the saying: no excuses we want results. I know I was not ready before starting; but I did not know it turned out to be that way. I should have waited another month and ran the soldier marathon in Georgia. So I had to run through hurting legs. It still feels like a great accomplishment at some level to have endured to the pain of dysfunctional legs. Glycogen depleted legs are not fun to run on. Bottom line is I was not smart to have run this without the good long runs. On the other hand: i can also say it was just not the fast day. Someone makes the decision around mile 15 Am I able to take it up a notch now and race? Or Am I just cruising to the finish line. I did the latter. I signed up for it so I did it. I cannot blame myself failing but I can blame myself for not trying.
