| There is a 5k on the JRP being put on by someone at the department of Ag. I though it was today so ran to the start to find no one there. Duh! It's tomorrow. | Add Comment |

| This was a VERY small race put on by employees at the Department of Agriculture. With a race this small, it's all about who shows up. I was no where close to the winner but luckily the fast runner that showed up was a woman, a local elite who finished a minute ahead of me without breaking a sweet (it was 87°). So I am slow but was the fastest slow guy today. My $5 entry got me a $25 gift certificate and a small bag of groceries. Woo Hoo. (Course probably long. Not positive that 21:08 was my recorded time, but close enough) | Comments(2) |

| I love this race. The course is tons of fun, is beautiful, and starts and ends less than a mile from my house. I keep trying to talk people into running it and am mostly unsuccessful, but this year Teena and her husband gave it a go. They both did great. Hopefully she will post a report. I'm not sure what to post about my race. I ran smart. I pushed myself and gave it a strong consistent effort without completely devastating myself. I finished faster than last year (last year I did the Slam and was on tired legs) but was 20 minutes slower than my course PR in 2009. I guess maybe middle-age is slowing me down, that and not training as much or as fast. I'm enjoying running, so I'll take the slowing times with a smile. 1- 8:51 2-12:59 3-11:08 4-12:19 5-12:40 6-14:51 7-23:53 8-19:18 9-9:30 10-8:29 11-7:02 12-7:06 13-8:10 14-7:53 15-8:16 16- 7:33 | Comments(4) |
