5.5 ez with 1.5 at 6:45 pace. My heart rate stayed low enough, maxed at 166, but my quads and legs in general are still sore. This is worrying me and causing self doubt. Oh well I guess all I can really do is rest.

No amount of running now will help this weekend. Do something else besides running if you just have to get your energy out.

Go for a walk. It has really helped me with soreness. A good 20-30 mins will do you wonders. And you can even count it as rest.

better today but I didn't try running on them. I may do 3 ez miles either Thursday or Friday. Or I may walk or try sitting on my butt.

Mark...I'm going to take a break from running and the blog for a while to get my family in order.

Have you qualified for New York? What does it take to do that?
From fly on the wall on Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 10:15:34 from 168.179.215.242
Mr. Gardinero, One needs family support to run, or at least to train, but I think I'm a better family supporter because I run.... Just don't forget to take care of yourself when you're taking care of your family.
Mr. Montelepsy, I qualified to avoid the lottery for New York. Getting older was key to my qualifying. I did it at the Painter's/ St. George 1/2 marathon (a certified course) in January with a sub 1:30:00 time. I may have also qualified at the Salt Lake Half, if they certified this years course.

Thanks for the advice, Mark. I'll still run, but not as much as I have been. I'll keep in touch.

1:30:00 for a half is crazy. I can barely get my hair done in that time much less run 13 miles.
I do appreciate the pep talk on qualifying for Boston. I will do it one day.

Tis why my hair is only 1/8 inch long.
