JRP to Legacy.  The unpaved portion was starting to dry out and the mud wasn't bad at all.

My battery went dead at 14.58 but my average pace was about 8:24 (no HR monitor).  I didn't know how I would fair durring this run.  I felt tired at the start of it.  But an amazing thing happened.  On an out and back run I had the wind at my back for about 14 of the 15 miles!!  What are the chances?  Only one mile with rain and wind in my face.  A tailwind and a cafinated gel not only helped me to finish but I picked up the pace and finished strong.  God must have been smiling on heathens today. :)  I'll try to remeber this one next time I'm having self doubt and struggling to get out the door.

I hope someone else had a tailwind today.

When I heard the wind blowing this morning I chickened out and ran on the treadmill.

Your week is off to a great start. Running from the JRP to Legacy seems like a dangerous stretch. Do you wear kevlar while you run?

Kathie, It's like the bumper sticker says- The worst day on the trail beats the best day on the treadmill.

Andy, I've never felt threatened in the past 5 years I've run there. Though I was bitten by a little yippy dog and propositioned twice, once by a man and once by whom I presume was a "working" woman. All of these things promote a quickened pace.

Great job there, Fly!!! Exactly where is that stretch you ran? Sounds creepy.

Reading your run puts a smile on my face. That portion of the trail must be frequent by "heathens". :D
