A.M. - Ran to work via a "scenic route" for 4.2 miles.  Good thing I took a scenic route because my legs felt like lead for the first 3.5 miles which is a greater distance than the direct route.  ho hum.

 

LUNCH - 6.1 miles recovery pace.  Legs a bit better than this morning.

This should be another 70 mile week, but I still have 3 more runs to get in so we'll see.

When I'm not running I'm feeling great. Running wise, I only notice my left ankle (the one I sprained) when I run fast down hill (luckily St. George isn't a fast downhill course.... Doh!) But it is getting better and better so as long as I don't roll it again, I'm not worried about it. My left knee has also had a bit of pain on the inside, below and away from the knee cap. This has come and gone since ski season and doesn't seem to be affected by mileage or type of terrain. I can't figure out what the deal is. It flared up when I rolled my ankle but seems to be going away again. I'm monitoring it, but not worried about it.

My endurance seems good but the first 3 or 4 miles of my runs are often just drudgery. I'm not sure why it is taking so long to warm up. Is this a sign of over training or normal when building to a training peak? I don't remember taking so long to warm up during previous training cycles but my mind is good at forgetting such things and my old training logs are lost in cyber space.

I'm still lacking confidence for the sub-3 attempt. Race morning I'll probably just throw caution to the wind and go for it. But I look at Cal and Paul's training and races and can't imagine keeping up with them!

Thanks for all the kudos from everyone. They really help keep me going. Sorry for not reciprocating as much as I’d like to.
