good morning. i was very excited for the race...and nervous. warmed up 2 miles and just got prepared mentally. i didn't really know what goal to set time wise since i hadn't been hitting very fast times lately, so i just wanted to be in the mix.

race started and i got out ok. top 5 or so. pace went out slow cause no one ever wants to lead the race. Ben Saarel was their but i knew his coach told him not to go all out because his main race was the 2 mile the next day, but i dont think anyone else knew that so they all sat behind him. ~1:07 next lap i started to move up and got better postion..race was going by really fast 1:06. third lap was the best one. people in front of me were ben, tomy (who led a bit of it), jake heslington, and franco. 1:05. at the beginning of the last lap i noticed ben and jake were starting to take off, so i tried to squiz inbetween franco and tomy to go with them cause i felt great, but franco didn't like that very much. he threw an elbow into my side and made me stumble to the right and i fell off them 5 meters. i was mad, and tried to start going again but it took me another 200meters and kramer passed me. it ended up being my worst lap: 1:09. ending with a low 4:27.

pretty disappointed. i'm positive i could've gotten a 1:04 finish, but whatever. its the first real meet and this race accullly gave me the confidence and break through i've needed the past month. i PR'd from last years 4:27 by half a second. i really feel i can go sub 4:20 now and i'm excited that i can run with these guys again! cooled down on casey's and byron's warm up 2 miles.

Great race Mike! Way to hang in there! I saw the Franco hit you. I realized that, and he could of gotten a D.Q. for that.

A March PR is awesome. You've got more time to drop quite a bit more off that time. 4:27 right now is really good.
