Race Day: events for the day were 800m and 4x400.

I was pretty nervous for this 800 cause i didn't feel i prepared mentally early enough. it was my first open 800 of the year. I thought i had a late warm up too but it ended up fine (about 2 miles) goal was to get sub 2:01 to qualify for state but i really wanted to get sub 2. it was only me and a kid from cedar that at decent times for the heat and state was his goal too but i knew i'd have to run this in front to get it. race started and got boxed in from all the kids that sprint the first 200m, but slowly got up to 2 place by the 200 (29-30) hung behind him for a second then past him and flew to the end of the first lap (1:00) knew i had to go and i felt good. so i started to move faster. then the cedar kid all of a sudden came by me and past me on the first curve then went right in front of me and slowed down. i was mad he did that cause it threw my pace off and so i finished the curve and passed him again. last bit i started to go harder and tried to finish it hard. then right when i passed the finish line i knew i made it and was pretty reliefed.

ended up getting it by only .18 seconds. i would've beat up that cedar kid if i didn't get it. thinking about it now i think that move cost him more than me cause if he had only stuck behind me the rest of the way he might have got state himself instead of using his energy too fast/soon. i'm happy i finally have qualified for all 4 of my events. now i just need to move all the times down.

3 hours later i did the 4x400. i was hoping for a low 54 but ran it bad. ended with a 55.7ish

dont have a meet for another 2 weeks so now i have good break and have some good workouts for this next while.
