am: nice 3

afternoon: we drove up at 8:30 so we could go fun the state course again, just like last week. i felt pretty good.

pm: well anyone that saw my race would say it was ran pretty ugly. but anyway, race started at 6 and we got there at like 4. so we sat around for a while and i almost fell asleep cause i was pretty tired. but we decided we should go run the course once cause we heard it was pretty hard. so we went and warmed up 3 and the guy didn't let us on the course cause there were runners on it still so we were going to have to run it blind. but course was a all dirt (parts deep sand) and very hilly.

RACE: gun started (beginning was uphill right off) and i started pretty good but not very fast. was in about 15. first half mile i was moving up and when we hit the first big uphill i passed 10 guys just like that and caught the front group of chuk, kramer, and rory. first mile we were 4:50 which is a bit fast but alright considering it was downhill for 1/3 of it.

i went into 1st after the 2nd uphill and after being there for a second i decided i wasn't feeling good enough to be leading so i backed off. after that i just kept getting slower and slower. by the 2 mile i was 11:06 and they were around 10:50 ~100meters ahead.

i felt terrible and no one was around me cause us 4 were a good ways from everyone. in fact in the last half mileish i didn't know if i was even going the right way cause i couldn't see anyone...i started feeling a bit better though and started moving again. i got to the 'Mutha Cussa' which is a huge sandy hill and i saw they had all on it near the top so i went hard knowing i could gain a lot of ground here, and i did. after i passed my coach and he told me that we were going to beat desert hills so that gave me a lot of confidence and i started harder, soon i caught rory passing him fast so he wouldn't go with me, then i got to chuk the last 200 meters and started gaining kramer but just ran out of room!

i wasn't very proud of this race, cause of how bad i fell off. i need to be racing better than this if i want to beat jordan cross. happy my kick is getting better though. AND we Beat desert hills for the first time this year!! our team is really starting to pull it together. all our guys ran great!
