Short-Term Running Goals: -Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.
-Break stroller records?
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home. |

| | Great run today! 10-5-3-2-1 fartlek was good; it appears my endurance is coming back to me because I ran a full 2 miles for the 10 minute segment today, which is a little better than last time. I did better on the five just like last time, and exploded the beginning of the 3 before I felt the need to "release something that had been building up inside my body", to say it politely. Somehow, for the rest of that one and for the 2 and 1, I still held my own and was with the group despite how uncomfortable it was.

| | Solid workout today... 5 by 1200 on the indoor track w/ 3:30 rest. Much better than my last workout indoors. 3:28, 3:28, 3:29, 3:29, and 3:27. That's 2:53 average through 1k, and I remember doing a workout I thought was good last season where I had the same rest and was averaging 3:02 without altitude. So I'm definitely getting better!

| | 15.5 miles on a great freaking long run! It was windy and raining on my first run back in Medford, and I felt great so I did 3 loops on RoxyAnn. This is only tied for my longest long run ever, but it's by far the most difficult as I start at 1800 feet elevation, get to 3000 feet early on, and then go up and down and up and down for the rest of the time through the rain. With one loop to go I made a goal of running under 1:45, and I ended up running 1:42 flat, which is 6:35 pace. My next best pace was 7:42 which I ran this summer!
