Last long run before my race!  Took three days off last week because my knee was sore but it felt pretty good this morning and I am feeling confident that with my taper coming up it will be ok come race day.  Two weeks to go.  Nervous and excited!

Today I ran from 121st street down to the Statue of Liberty along the Hudson River.  I don't usually like running along the Hudson but because of my knee I thought I needed to run on flat ground.  The last time I ran 10 miles down to the Statue I took the subway home so I thought it was going to be so boring going all the way down and turn around and go all the way back but it actually passed quickly and was an enjoyable run.

Kept a 8:10 pace.  Started out super slow and then just tried to keep a steady pace.

Garmin Died so I don't know my pace.  Was suppose to do a progression run with the last 6 @ moderate pace.  Went with what felt good.  Overall my legs feel good.  They still need some recover to feel fresh but hopefully that will come over the next week.  I feel ready and excited for the marathon.  I do feel like my pace is a little behind for what my goal time is.  I wish I would have picked up the pace on my long runs to feel more confident that I can keep the pace in the marathon.  BUT...there is no turning back now.  The training is behind me and now I just have to stay positive and go out and do my best.  I am just happy that my knee has been feeling better and that is most important.  Need to stretch and ice good.

2 miles easy

8 miles @marathon race pace.  I feel like I stayed pretty close to race pace the whole time with a little variation.  I wish I new how to work my watch better so that I could see my splits.  My ave. pace after 10 miles was 7:07

Finished with a 2 mile cool down

Ran the Central Park loop today which was fun cause there was a race going on but my knee is a little sore after all the hills.  I think next week I will do my runs on the Hudson to avoid any problems come marathon.  One week to go!
