I originally planned on 10 miles this morning.  But, I'm doing a workout tomorrow which should give me some extra miles, so 8 was plenty.

It was a beautiful, cool morning.  It's nice to see the sun again after yesterday's downpour.  I'm feeling stronger every day.  I've noticed that the added strength work definitely helps with muscle recovery.   I ran 1300 W to the River Trail at 7000 S.  I saw runners dressed in full tights and long sleeves like it was winter.  They must have been dying.  It's not that cold out!  6:55 average.

I registered for Murray Fun Days 5k! First race back. I am keeping my expectations low! I just submitted my info for CIM. Eek! I must be getting back into the swing of things if I'm thinking about fast marathons. We will see what the elite athlete coordinator has to say!

CIM will gladly accept your entry :-)

The only downside of that race is that Southwest doesn't fly direct to Sacramento.

Well, we will have to see where frequent flyer miles get me!

Delta usually has last-minute cheap flights to Sacramento that they put on sale on Mondays before the upcoming weekend (I know this from tracking it last fall). If I run CIM again (very likely), I'll have a ticket on SW for a refundable backup and then wait for those Delta deals to get a direct flight there.

it's awesome that you are getting back into it and already thinking marathons again. CIM is a great race and that will give you plenty of time for training.

i had to laugh at all the bundled up runners this morning (myself included). i opted for long sleeves and gloves and ended up in a sports bra. it *felt* cold at first, but 50-55 is not cold when you are running.

hope to run with you soon...maybe friday? :)
