I felt much better today than I did on Saturday.  I spent way too long last night talking with Teren, so when the alarm went off at 5, I was very tempted to go back to sleep.  But, I made it out of bed and out the door.  That's my big mental victory of the day!

I ran a 3 mile warm-up followed by 2 sets of 1-2-3-2-1 minute intervals with 1-1-2-1-1 recovery.  Most of the intervals stayed within 5:45-5:55 pace, with a couple of the 1 minute intervals getting down to 5:25-5:30 pace.  I only cooled down enough to hit 8 miles because I still needed to go to the store to get milk for the kids' breakfast.  Oh, the joys of family life!

Nice workout Emily. Glad to see you healthy and running some strong efforts. We did pretty much the same workout today - great minds think alike!

You guys are making me feel lazy! Guess I need to get on the fartlek bandwagon.

I chuckled when I saw your workout. They were definitely similar. I like fartlek workouts. They break up the monotony of running, and are a great way of gaining fitness.
