Running Accomplishments:

I'm a 40+ "used to be"...

7 years ago had BAD case of frostbite and nearly lost my feet.  Stopped running (obviously) & gained LOTS of weight.  Started jogging again when local community club needed a coach and found out that exercise helped to increase circulation in my affected areas as well as decreased overall weight which helped to take pressure off my feet.  Still deal with neuropathy and Reynauds--but do not take ANY pain meds to manage the pain.  Gotta' love running!!!

SO, any past accomplishments do not matter....only that I can get ut the door almost every day and run another run.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Currently building base to lead up to traditional Marathon

Goals:

Have not yet decided on race schedule for this year, but am shifting focus from ultras to trying to nail down some shorter speedy races and a tradtional marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for as long as I can & share the knowledge that God has graced me with by continuing to coach as well.

Personal:

Son:  Drew...currently runs for Adam's State!!

Currently Coaching:  Revolution Running

Day Job:  St. Joe's Veteran's Home

Happy Fat Tuesday! Thought I'd celebrate with a little interval work and girl scout cookies!

w/u, stretches, drills, 2 pick ups

6x1200 with 2 min active rest (apparently I accidentally did 7??) @ tempo or 10k pace

SO, as always, not easy to coach AND get my workout in simultaneously.  Goal was 6:32, but depending on who I was running with, my pace was a bit wonky.  (6:20, 6:07, 6:42, 6:38, 6:36, 6:40, 6:34)  Somehow, I managed to get in 7--not sure how, guess I lost count and just kept on running?

Cool thing was that at any given time, i was with the slowest boy group.  last season, the majority of vaarsity boys were having trouble holding 6:40 for any length of time, and now they were anywhere from 5:45 to 6:40.  SO excited about this season.

Cooled down with Angela and her dog, Annie.  Annie ran a piece of my last one and REALLY helped!  Went over to Runners Roost this evening for a kickoff for Team Challenge-a half marathon group that I coach for 16 weeks to raise awareness and funds for Crohn's and Colitis research and treatment.  We are planning to go to napa in July!!

Now about those Girl Scout Cookies...mmmm....

So what is the "watch" you are using? Everytime I look at them I get so overwhelmed that I walk away and decide not to keep track of my time-LOL!!! I lovvvvve your choice of fundraising issues!! Running has cured most of mine!!!! What is the run in Napa?

Scott-I totally splurged last night...darn Lent...

Squirrel-We do the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon. It is gorgeous AND flat! I use Garmin watches. They pretty much do the math for me, as they are GPS enabled and show what pace and distance I am running. I have several so that the kis can divide into pace groups (I have 40 + kids, so it is hard for me to coach them all at the same time...)
