Short-Term Running Goals: Start running again and run 1:30 for a half marathon this fall.
Long-Term Running Goals: Break 3 hours for the marathon
Sub 17 5K, Sub 36 10K.

| Ran an easy 9 miles w/ Jacki from Hawthorn Park through Rose, Woodridge and back, plus add-on in 1:10:38. Ran early this morning, but was still already 76 and sunny. Hopefully, it won't be this warm next Saturday. |

| Ran an easy 3.5 miles from home down 13th to Ft. Harrison and back in 23:36. Had 12:24 half way, so picked up a little on the way back. Really well rested. RHR was just 46 today. It's funny when you taper that different aches and pains surface. Temp warm 71, humid, windy, light rain. |

| Tonight ran a pretty good 7 miles w/ Jacki in a steady on/off rain from Meadows through Deming Park, Terra Vista, Woodridge and back. Total time 50:48. Temp warm 72, went without a shirt in the rain. Left IT band has been bothering me the last two days, but not when I run... Work really, really sucked today. I have to stay as stress free as possible over the next few days. No caffeine after noon for the second day in a row.

| Tonight ran a pretty good 8 miles with Jacki and Dave. Did about 4 pickups of 30 seconds each at around 6:00 pace toward the end. Left IT band still tight the first mile. Pretty warm and humid 72 at 9:00 pm. |

| Ran the crappiest two miles I've run in a long time. Everything
burned, ached, kinked. Just downright a sucky run. Glad to get the
weeks sucky run out of the way and hope I'll feel better for Saturday's
race. First mile in 7:32, 7:00 on the way back.

| Ran a pretty good 2 miles in 13:36. Had 7:25 half way, stopped, stretched, then came back with a 6:11. Conditions outside are ideal, 51, post rain, hardly a breeze at all. This is probably what's it's going to be like 12 hours from now, just hope we don't have a downpour during the race. Feel tons better than yesterday although left IT still has kinks the first few minutes and stomach bothering me a little. |

| Today ran the Indy Mini in really good time, 1:18:19. Really strong race for me. Ran in a pack with Travis Lozier from miles 3-8, but couldn't quite hang on the rest of the way. Weather was ideal, a little humid, but perfect. Some of my splits were the fastest I've done in 10 years, 5 mile, 10K, 15K and 10 mile splits were all faster than any race I've done since 2000. Went out really hard, struggled a lot the last 3 miles, just couldn't turn the legs over.
