Personal:

I am married and have two wonderful kids, 14 and 10.  I've been running since 1982.  I never get "basic" injuries.  I always get the real nasty career threatening kind, like stress fracture of the sacrum, ganglion cyst clamping  down on my peroneal nerve.

Today ran the Indy Mini in really good time, 1:18:19.  Really strong race for me.  Ran in a pack with Travis Lozier from miles 3-8, but couldn't quite hang on the rest of the way.  Weather was ideal, a little humid, but perfect.  Some of my splits were the fastest I've done in 10 years, 5 mile, 10K, 15K and 10 mile splits were all faster than any race I've done since 2000.  Went out really hard, struggled a lot the last 3 miles, just couldn't turn the legs over.

 Splits!

1. 5:39

2. 11:29 (5:50)

Nice job. Impressive that this is your fastest time in 9 years at most distances! Plus, even your slowdown at the end was only 10-20 seconds per mile.

Congrats on a great race! Good job going after it today and hanging tough the last 5k. I think you will be knocking down those 5 and 10k times in races this year.

Pretty good showing for the FRB. Way to represent.

Great job. The name Travis Lozier sounds really familiar to me. I think I remember him from high school (?)

Thanks Paul. Excellent race for you! Are you from Indiana originally? Travis went to a local high school in West Terre Haute and attended and ran for Indiana State University. I believe he may have graduated from ISU around 2000 or 2001.

Yes, I grew up in Crawfordsville (went to Southmont High School). My parents have sinced moved to Brazil, IN, just a few minutes from Terre Haute. I thought I recognized Lozier as a former Terre Haute athlete. We would have graduated high school at about the same year. Also, a good friend of mine ran for ISU from 1996-2000, so maybe that's where the name is familar.
