Summer track series this week was the mile - actually the 1600 meter. Had hoped to go 5:30 with all the 200 splits around 41-42. First few were at 42 and that felt pretty good, so just cruised at that pace. A couple bounced up to 43, but finished strong with a 40 second last 200. Add up all the tenths and I finished at 5:38 - I'll take it considering I never really felt too labored. Travis hit his plan perfectly with a controlled 2:30 at the half and a good negative split to finish 4:56. |
