Cool drizzly six in the neighborhood this evening followed by striders. No running tomorrow and then 30k race Saturday morning. Dont really plan on "racing" it, but hope to just go out and run marathon pace as long as comfortable and then cruise in.

Have fun Saturday. My advice is the try and "race" the last two or three miles. Running fast on tired legs is, obviously, great marathon prep.

Gotcha, Rob - so if I anticipate any "cruising" I should make it the few miles after the halfway turnaround and then crank it back up for the last few - I like it. Thanks.

It's good because it's manageable. When you start to tire around mile 15 or 16 in a marathon, that last 10 miles seams like an eternity. But if you know you're going "only" 18.6, it seems easier. Your body and brain will learn to cope with running hard that late in the race
