Bit of a chilly run this morning around the neighborhood - yes, 35 is chilly for me.  Will need all my will power and warm gear for the next few mornings as well - sub 30!  I will think of all you northerners who scoff at such balmy temps while pounding out the miles.

Hang in there Doug. Spring should arrive in about a month right?

One more thing. I think I'm going to run the USATF Masters Indoor Championships in Albuquerque in early March. I think I'm going to do the M45 Mile. Wouldn't want to join me would you. Maybe do the 400 or 800?

OK, two more. The winning M45 time in the 400 was 52.8 and they went up to 59. In the 800, 2:08 would put you mid pack.

Albu... thats like in Alabama, right? Early March hmmmm birthday present trip for me. I did indeed love running the 400 indoor back in the day. There is an indoor meet in Gainesville at the end of January that the team goes to - seems they might have old geezer divisions. Maybe I will target that and if I can muster a sub 58, I might target a trip to visit Rob in NM - hmmmmmmmmm

I already checked the airfare. I can get to Alb. (better to abbreviate that!) for $198.It's a 13 hour drive from here.

Start tacking some hard striders at 90% effort onto your runs. If you were going to do the 400, I'd be done with your aerobic base building period pretty soon. Got to get those bones and connective tissue ready for some speed. I think you might be happily surprised at what you can run.
