First collegiate 8k! I raced like an idiot haha. Gotta stop going out so hard and get back to my roots of going out easy and working my way up. Went out with the Kenyans from Alabama, then died from there. Still finished 24th, not too bad. Our team won the race though! Somehow lol. Cooled down a bit, good stuff. Work to do, but good stuff

Update: coach had my splits for the first 5k, went 4:46, 9:55, 15:08. I went out WAY too hard. I really gotta ease into it, it's hard mentally but I gotta start doing that again.

Our Kenyans are really good lol. One of our guys is Sam Chelenga's nephew!

Haha not quite, I'm opting out of cross to have a good track season this year(hopefully). Best of luck to you and the T-Bird boys though!

Hopefully get that speed base in so you survive track season, maybe you can hang with your Kenyans, good luck though

It's a pleasure to follow your racing. It'll be great to see what you do when 4:46 is your last mile and not your first. Thanks for blogging.
